Ten Lost Years -
The Musical
Sunday, Sept 27, 2009
ECS
“Ten
Lost Years” brings to life the stories of an entire
generation of Canadians who lived their formative years
during the Great Depression. Told with an astonishingly
honest simplicity – the actors giving voice to the
images – these stories portray the courage, incredible
humour and stoicism of the men and women who lived through
these times as recorded in Barry Broadfoot’s masterpiece
“Ten Lost Years”. Live actors and singers
– often in four-part harmony, present the show.

True Jive Pluckers
Sunday, May 2, 1010
2:30 p.m.
Estevan Comprehensive School
When
violinist Ed Minevich, guitarist Jack Semple, and bassist
Steve McLellan get together over a pint and burger, the
conversation will inevitably turn to the discussion of
great music and the thrill of performing. It was on one
such evening, that they came up with the idea of forming
a trio with a musical palette that would meld all their
varied, favourite genres. This includes a broad spectrum
of music, since each brings to the trio his own vast and
diverse musical experience including Jazz, Blues, Tango,
Classical, Klezmer – you name it. The True Jive
Pluckers have been selling out the house. These are three
guys with a lot of pluck!
